should You use Facebook?
Facebook is the king in social media and its global reach is massive. “As of June 2014, Facebook boasted the following numbers:
- 1.32 Billion people use Facebook every month on their computer.
- 1.07 Billion people use Facebook every month on their mobile device, including cell phones, iPads and other tablets.”
Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg, has stated that “I want to connect the world.” For those in the Network Marketing or Direct Sales industry, Facebook is a perfect social media environment to establish relationships all over the world.
Purpose of a Facebook Post
The point of using Facebook (any social media platform) is to increase your Brand awareness, your Audience awareness, develop new Relationships and Reciprocating strategies, and, ultimately, to increase sales. The strategy is a passive strategy. It’s no different than meeting someone new for the first time. It’s about building rapport and gaining an understanding of what they want or need.
One of the most important points is that Facebook can be a free marketing medium. There is a lot that can be done simply by posting on your personal profile, Fan Page or Group. You can purchase ads but they are not crucial, especially when you are first starting out.
The 5 Key Elements of a Successful Facebook Post
1. Grab Attention and Create Focus
It could be as simple as saying,”Hi, Everyone,” and then share something from your personal life. Another strategy is to indicate something that’s contradictory to what people in your market commonly believe. For example, “It turns out that breakfast is not the most important meal of the day.” Your statements do not need to be long, just something that grabs the attention of the reader in such a way that it draws them into your post a little deeper.
2. Demonstrate Credibility
Credibility or authority can be established by using data or statistics. Personal testimonials are very effective as are using third party organizations. By doing so, you are sharing information that says I know what I’m talking about.
3. Share Your Story or Offer a Unique Solution
What you are offering should be different from what’s in the marketplace. Sharing your story is going to be unique, if for no other reason, than there is nobody else living your life.
Another strategy builds on the theme of contradictory ideas. For example, “When I changed my approach to what was talked about in this blog, prospecting become more fun and interest people started to reach out to me.” What’s interesting about this statement is the comment that interested people started reaching out to me.” That is not the normal experience for someone in direct sales or network marketing.
4. Articulate Benefits
Any good marketer is able to provide the audience with a perceived benefit. The good thing is, if you share the results you’ve produced for people, it’s implied that you can help others get similar results as well. Our focus should be on listening to what the “prospect” wants and needs. We look for ways to come into alignment with their thinking so that they come into agreement with our solution.
5. Create Urgency
Every post or ad that is intended to draw “prospects” into your world must have a call to action. The call to action can be very simple. One example is, “I am sending out samples to 10 people.” Private Message me about with sample you would like.
Another is “Click to see more” or “Comment in the section below for more information.”
And one last tip. What’s the old adage, a picture is worth a 1,000 words. Add images to your posts that is related to the content of your message.
