Two other points from yesterday’s presentation (from Social Security 567). 1) Only 13% of employers offer pensions and that number is decreasing every year. 2) “Nine out of ten people age 65 and older are receiving Social Security benefits, and for 32% of them, it represents over 90% of their income.” Wow, wow and wow.
So, two things struck me about this article. The first is the definition of the word encourage. The basic definition is to give or inspire courage to; to give confidence of success to, to inspire courage, spirit or strength of mind; to embolden. When we encourage others we are emboldening a confidence of success.
In the words of economist Thomas Sowell, “Doing 90 percent of what is required is one of the biggest wastes, because you have nothing to show for all your efforts.” Instead you must develop the habit of staying committed and finishing strong.
